HENDERSONVILLE — John Steven Winter, 65, went to be with Jesus Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
A native of Morristown, NJ, John received his undergraduate degree at the University of Maine and his MBA from Florida State University. Having raised his family in both Virginia and Maryland, John retired from Hawkins Electric in Laurel, MD as Vice President of Finance to Western North Carolina in January 2023.

He will always be remembered as a hard-working, loving family man of great faith.
John was the son of Barbara Jean Winter of New Jersey, and the late Richard Carl Winter.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife of 32 years, Veronica Jean Winter; son, Matthew John Winter; daughter, Holly Elizabeth Winter; sister Christine and brother-in-law Robert Meyer, and sister Sharon and brother-in-law Edward Taylor; sister-in-law Peggy Palaticz; nieces Jennifer Bestgen and Marissa Ferola, nephews Gregory Meyer and Brian Taylor; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
