Yasuo “Yas” Shiba, 84, of Waverly formerly of Beatrice passed away on September 12, 2024. He was born October 18, 1939, in Minatare, NE to Kichiemon and Mikiko Shiba. He attended Scottsbluff High School in Scottsbluff, NE. Yas worked in the laundry and kitchen departments and lived on the grounds at Beatrice State Developmental Center until 2003. He enjoyed playing bingo and pickle cards, often walking around with his winnings in his pants pocket.

He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. Inurnment of the cremains will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice.
