Cheryl Cornelius, 86, of Plainville, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 16, 2024. She was born in Washington, IN on June 13, 1938, to Harold and Nelline (Gines) Godwin. Cheryl enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking, and reading. She was a devout member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Osha on June 5, 1957. Together they had two children, Scott Osha of San Francisco, CA and Anita (Osha) Fleckal of Kansas City, MO. They shared a life together, enjoying time outside, gardening, and horses for over 30 years, until Bob's passing in June of 1989.
Cheryl married Norman Cornelius on January 3, 1997. They spent many happy years together, laughing and enjoying each other's company. They enjoyed visiting with family and friends, reading, traveling, and driving in the country with their little dog.
Cheryl leaves behind her caring husband, Norman and his children, Kathy (Cornelius) Fears and Kenny Cornelius; her son, Scott; her daughter, Anita; her beloved granddaughters, Aubrey and Jadyn Fleckal and many others who care greatly for Cheryl.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brother, Dickie, her first husband and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, starting at 12:00 followed by a memorial service at 1:30. Both will be held at Goodwin-Sievers Family Funeral Home in Washington, IN. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery following the service. All friends and family are welcome. Memorial Donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 104 N.
