Helen Joyce Schoolcraft

Helen J. Schoolcraft 72, of Cairo, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her residence, following an extended illness. Helen was born January 19, 1946, in Cornwallis, WV, a daughter of the late Michael Martin Sr. and Genevieve (Griffith) Martin. She spent her life as a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. She was a member of OES #39 of Cairo, WV where she served as the past matron and she was an avid WVU fan. She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannette Linger of Williamstown, WV and Jennifer Knapp (John) of Cairo, WV; brother, Michael Martin II (Lisa) of Kingsland, GA; grandchildren, Kory Cottrill & Ivy Linger, and her brother in law, David Schoolcraft (Carol) of Weirton, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter W. Schoolcraft in 2011; sisters, Donna Jean Gregg; Evelyn Mossor; Luetta Edwards; Cathy Carney, and her infant daughter, Judith Elaine Schoolcraft. Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with Pastor Doug Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Cairo Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on Friday, at the funeral home.
