Betty (Olsen) Farone, 87, of Clinton and formerly of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 with her loving husband, Richard Farone, by her side.  Betty was born on January 5, 1937 in West Stewartstown, NH to the late Vivian Mazonkey and Charles Olsen.

Betty, known as "Gig" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, is survived by her son and daughter in law, Richard & Karen Farone and her son, Dennis Farone.  She also leaves behind her four grandchildren: Justin Farone, Tina Valentin, Camber Haines (Mike) and Tom Farone (Veronica) as well as her loving great-grandchildren: Kaiya, Kayden, Railey, Xavier, Reece, Tyler, Christian, Madison and Julian and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her three siblings.

Betty was a retired paraprofessional for the Wallingford Public Schools where she touched the lives of many students.  Betty was most known for her sarcastic sense of humor and witty personality.  Her grandchildren, except for Tommy, will always regret not getting "one of these" from her when they misbehaved.  Everyone will miss her grilled cheese sandwiches with pickled cucumbers, scrambled eggs, grape jelly, and her famous JELLO mold and Jezebel Sauce.  Unfortunately, none of her secret recipes were ever shared with her sons or grandchildren.  Betty's favorite pastime was relaxing at Lake Pocotapaug in East Hampton where she enjoyed the breeze, painting and crafting with her grandchildren, crocheting, paddle boating and the company of her dog Cocoa and her husband Rich.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford.  A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Shriners Children's Foundation at P.O.
