Jean M. Anderson, 70, passed after a brief illness, peacefully surrounded by her family at home. She was born on February 2, 1954 in Monesson, PA, the daughter of Constants F and Marie W (Drozd) Hilinski.
She graduated from Monesson High School in 1972. Following graduation, she worked as a model and was involved in the fashion industry. In 1983, she married her sweetheart, Cyrus V Anderson of Pittsburgh, and they started their family in Bethel Park, PA. In 1984, they welcomed a son, Elliot L Anderson, and in 1987, their beautiful daughter Chelsea V. Anderson.
Jean’s creative genius was always active. As a tactile artist, she was always finding inventive ways of revitalizing neglected objects. Her true gift and skill, however, was in the kitchen. Jean absolutely loved to cook, and some of her signature dishes were without equal. Sharing recipes and ideas in the kitchen was one of her favorite topics of conversation. The incredible flavor of her Linguine with White Clam Sauce and Chicken Soup will be deeply missed. She also held a deep love of gardening and music in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, but is survived by her husband, Cyrus V Anderson, her son Elliot L Anderson and his partner Micah Schnorr, and her daughter Chelsea V Anderson and granddog Nova. Also surviving are her three sisters: Irene (Hilinski) Damratoski and her husband Daniel, of Pittsburgh, Verne (Hilinski) Kniha and her husband Chuck of Columbus, OH, and Christine (Hilinski) Kroskie and her husband Ed of Columbus, OH. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and grandcats.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Beinhauer-Connell Funeral Home, 5120 W Library Ave, Bethel Park, PA 15102 from 6-8PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Christ United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Rd, Bethel Park, PA 15102, at 11AM (Everyone Please Meet At Church).
