Thomas Franklin “Frank” Clarke, 68, of St. Inigoes, MD, passed away on September 16, 2024 in St. Mary’s County, MD. Born on November 22, 1955 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of Elizabeth “Betty Anne” Clarke of St. Inigoes, MD and the late Thomas Bennett Clarke, Jr. Frank was the loving husband of Kim M. Medeiros Clarke, whom he married on June 24, 2005, in St. Inigoes, MD. He is survived by his children Amy L. Clarke Norton (Patrick) of MO, Anna M. Sterup (John) of NE, Kyle B. Medeiros of NY, Brittney M. Medeiros (Roger) of Chaptico, MD, Bailee E. Medeiros of Lexington Park, MD, and Kacey G. Medeiros of St. Inigoes, MD, his siblings Constance A. Garner (Danny) of La Plata, MD, John A. Clarke (Helena) of Park Hall, MD, and Carol M. Bryant (Vincent) of Hughesville, MD, as well as his grandchildren Lyle Thomas Norton, Wyatt Norton, Jack Sterup, John James (JT) Sterup, Theodore Sterup, Raegan Sterup, Maddisynn Medeiros-Foss, Leeah Medeiros-Foss, Sahvanna Medeiros, Corey Sexton, Logan Sexton, Aden Sexton, Kyliee Williams, Karter Hayden, Karson Medeiros, Jayden Medeiros-Jones, Alaina Medeiros-Jones. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Bennett Clarke, Jr. and his brother, Kevin Daniel Clarke.


Frank was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken in 1974. He was an Electrician who worked first for his father’s company, Tom’s Electric, and then worked for St. Mary’s County Public Schools for 24 years, retiring on August 1, 2015.


Frank was always very outgoing and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and always went the extra mile to help someone. He loved God, his family and friends, and his country. Frank especially loved children and at a young age, would organize games and elaborate role-playing. As an adult, he would still organize games, take children to the park, movies and other fun adventures.


Growing up, Frank was a boy scout and achieved Eagle Scout status. He was an avid baseball fan and loved the Baltimore Orioles. As a youth, he played Little League baseball and softball as an adult. Additionally, he coached Little League and Women’s Softball. He was a former member of the Ridge Rescue Squad.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Ridge, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Father Keith Burney officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Carroll, Rick Gerek, Joe Gerek, Ken Clarke, Brian Mayor, and Richard Lancaster.
