Christian Edward Kuhnel, 83, of Round O, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 16, 2024 at his residence. Born November 18, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Frank Andrew Kuhnel and Jane Marie Waters Kuhnel.
Formerly of Portage, Indiana, Christian was an avid bowler, and he enjoyed spending time with his daughters as Chief Umpire of their softball league. He retired from Bethlehem Steel and moved to Round O with his wife to be with his children in 2000. He spent his retirement as a willing handyman for friends and family, and always helped anyone in need. He loved computers and gaming and continued to enjoy them as they kept him busy during his illness.
Surviving are: his children, Patricia D. Kelley of Round O, Kathleen A. Slagle and her husband Robin of Round O; sister, Marjorie A. Kuhnel Wozniak of Michigan City, Indiana; brother, Michael P. Kuhnel and his wife Jane of Kettering, Ohio; grandchildren, Marilee Just-Ta and her husband Jie of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Aspen Vernamonti and her husband Brett of Aiken, Robbie Slagle and Adam Slagle of Round O; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, Christian is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Alberta L. Long; and a sister, Marie Frances Kuhnel.
