Melvin L. Belcher, age 81, Terre Haute, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 9:16 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2024, in Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born July 24, 1943, in Logansport, he was the son of Carl and Lavina Ruschkofski Belcher, who preceded him in death.
On August 17, 1963, in Logansport, he was married to Linda Shields, who preceded him in death August 29, 2015.
Melvin retired as a quality control supervisor and had been employed at Switches and Valley Tool & Die. A 1962 graduate of Logansport High School, he was a member of the Yorktown Road Church of Christ, Logansport.
Surviving are daughters, Tammy (Nick) Hicks, Julie (Wesley) Wonderlin, all of Terre Haute; sister, Charmane Walters, Florida; grandchildren, Joseph (Heather) Hicks, Melinda Hicks, Isaac Wonderlin, Paige (Jacob) Morris; great grandchildren, Stormy Hicks, Remington Hicks, Nicholas Hicks, Andrew Drisko, Maraya Doll; several nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Belcher.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21st, at Yorktown Road Church of Christ.
The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, following visitation, also at the church, with Mark Racop officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Yorktown Road Church of Christ or Camp Wabashi, Terre Haute. Envelopes will be available at the church.
