Paul Barnes (77) passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home in Wheeler. He was a member of Wheeler Baptist Church and a Mason. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed talking with his friends and working hard to provide for his family.

Services with military honors are 11 am Thursday, September 19, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Franklin and Bro. Johnny Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.

Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Harp Barnes; his daughter, Vikki Edge; his son, Rusty Barnes (Shannon); his grandchildren, Preston Barnes (Bethany), Johnathon Edge, Ivan Barnes and Chayton Barnes; his sister-in-law, LaRue Barnes Scott; his brother-in-law, John Kendall and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil & Emma Lou Taylor Barnes; his brothers, Ellis Ray, Jerry & Mackie Barnes and his sisters, Ivanell Samples & Nina Kendall.

Pallbearers are Rodney Martin, Mike Thorn, Frankie Shelley, Cecil Franks, Thomas Shelley and Jackie Caldwell.

Honorary pallbearers are Justin Jackson, Caleb Trull, Ray Barnes, Rick Trout, Monkey Moore, Ray Harden, Greg Sparks, Tommy Samples, Hugh McAnally, Harland Sutherland, Ricky Miller, Rick Clements, Steve Heatherly, Clint Underwood, Ronny Kesler and the management & employees of JESCO.
