Sylvia Margaret Williams (nee Neff)

July 1, 1927 – September 16, 2024

Sylvia Williams passed away peacefully in an abundance of love on Monday, September 16 at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Ottawa.

She was 97. Born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario, Sylvia lived in Toronto, Listowel, Ottawa and Cumberland/Orleans, Ontario. Fondly remembered for her gentle way of seeking out social engagement, her love of horses, trees, and music, and her commitment to the Christian faith. Predeceased by Edmund Summers of Cumberland and Harry G. Williams of Toronto/Ottawa, her five siblings and her parents, Margaret E. and Ernest F. Neff.

Sadly missed by daughters, Joan (Lynne) and Carol, and son, John (Christine), grandson, Derek (Adrienne). Predeceased by grandson, Brandon. Remembered as a dear friend to sisters-in-law, Gail and Rita. Remembered by great grandsons, Ayaan and Imran.

‘Aunt’ Sylvia is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, especially Lorelei, Heidi, Caroline, and Donna. Sylvia also holds a special place in the hearts of her dear Al-Anon friends. Sylvia’s life will be celebrated at an informal service at Queenswood United Church, Orleans/Ottawa on Monday, Sept. 23 at 2:00 pm followed by interment at St. John’s Norway Cemetery, Toronto, at a later date.
