Vivian Denise Smith "Baldie", passed away on September 12th, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on September 19th, 1970, in the neighboring city of Oak Ridge, Vivian's life was a testament to love, friendship, and courage.
Vivian grew up in Oak Ridge, where she attended local schools and blossomed into a vivacious young woman with a passion for life. Her infectious laughter and boundless energy made her a beloved figure in her community. After pursuing her education, she embarked on a career in customer service, dedicating over two decades to assisting others with kindness and patience. Her colleagues remember her as the heart of the team, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
Vivian was a member of True Light Baptist Church.
Vivian's interests and hobbies were as diverse as her skills and talents. A lover of the culinary arts, she found joy in cooking, often sharing her delicious creations with friends and family. Her kitchen was a place of gathering, laughter, and storytelling, with the aromas of her cooking enveloping all who entered. Dancing was another of Vivian's passions.
Roller skating was yet another activity that Vivian excelled in. She could often be found at the local rink, skating with the ease of someone who had found true freedom on wheels.
Vivian's life was marked by her courageous spirit. She faced challenges with a smile and an unwavering belief that every obstacle was an opportunity to grow stronger. Her resilience was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her legacy of courage will live on in the hearts of her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ann Grace Smith, Grandparents Charlie and Betty Smith, and William and Fannie Mae Henderson.
She is survived by her devoted father and step- mother Melvin and Cynthia Kirk of Nashville, TN; her loving children, Derandus Smith of Atlanta, GA, Dekeesha Smith Hurd of Oak Ridge, TN and Walter Smith of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Damarion Anderson, Dynasty Oliver, Bekweir Oliver, Kariten Hurd, Ziyer Oliver, Seemion Oliver, Kyndorie Oliver, Willie Oliver II, Kazmeer Oliver, Keyleah Oliver, Knoell Oliver, Sanaa Smith, Walter Smith II, Iceland Smith, Shakur Badgett, Antione (Yayo) Washington, Antaesha Washington, Sha'fan Vonner, and Kirsie Smith; brothers, Derrick (Terreka) Smith of Knoxville, TN, Taj Kirk, Matthew Kirk, and Jordan Kirk of Nashville, TN. ; sisters, DeeDee Smith of Knoxville, TN, Erica Kirk of Nashville, TN, and Victoria Brown of Murfreesboro, TN; nephews, Derrick Smith,Penny Smith, Chaz Smith, Taj Jr., Bently Kirk, Jordan Kirk Jr, Jayden Kirk, and Luka Sirmati; nieces, Deauna Smith,Lailah Kirk, Madison Kirk, Skylar Kirk, Jania Branch, Talajah Kirk, Takia Kirk and Taylania Kirk.
