Tyrone Emile Lawson

Tyrone Emile Lawson, born on February 17, 1970, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, at the age of 54. Tyrone was a beloved son, brother, friend, uncle and grand uncle! His joy and optimism touched everyone who knew him. Diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome, he never allowed his disability to limit his vibrant spirit or his love for life. He joined Lexington Services in 1990, where he became a cherished part of this community, adored by both residents and staff alike. From Ridge Road to Mountain View he became a part of their family. Ashley, "Pumpkin" being his all time favorite, until he left this world into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

His mother, Carole Angela Lawsonn, was a constant presence in his life, frequently visiting him and sharing summer visits together, both in Coconut Creek, Florida, and Gloversville, New York. He is also survived by his father, Errol St. Aubyn Lawson, his sisters, Donna Lunan and Keka Lawson, who loved him dearly, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyrone’s passions were many. He loved basketball in his youth and carried a lifelong passion for music. He could often be found reading, solving word puzzles, or enjoying his favorite Chinese food. A social soul, Tyrone especially looked forward to attending weekly dances at the local YMCA, surrounded by his many friends.

Despite physical challenges, he never complained. When asked how he was, he would often reply with a warm smile, "I’m fine." His contentment with life was reflected in the small routines he cherished, from setting the table at his day program to helping in the library. He lived with gratitude and grace, finding joy in the simple moments.

Tyrone was a light in the lives of all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed.

He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
