William E. Harris Jr., age 76, of Ocean Pines, MD passed away at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD on Thursday, September 12, 2024.
He was born in Baltimore, MD. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force.
He worked at Baltimore Gas and Electric during his younger years and later retired from Bill Kidd’s Timonium Toyota. He was a member of the American Legion Post 166, Ocean City, MD.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carrie M. Harris; two daughters, Kelly Fogle and husband Matthew of Ocean Pines and Jessica Andrews and husband Mark of Ocean Pines; four grandchildren, Mary Fogle, Lily Fogle, Karla Andrews and Leo Andrews.
Bill’s love of the Lord was evident in the way he lived his life and raised his family. His greatest pride was his family. He absolutely loved spending his time with his grandchildren. He loved helping them with math homework, attending their school functions, hearing them sing at church, playing guitar and participating in karate. He enjoyed Island Creamery, puzzles, reading books, gardening, woodworking, feeding the birds and a winning Uno hand. On Thursday’s, he enjoyed the Breakfast Club with his friends. But most importantly, he LOVED LOVED his family!
Viewings will be held at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, DE on Thursday, September 19 from 6-8pm and Friday, September 20, 2024 from 11am-12pm. Service followed at noon. Interment will follow after the service, at the Gardens of the Pines, behind the Community Church of Ocean Pines. The luncheon will be held at Sonrise Church in Berlin, MD.
