Elizabeth Rebecca Moss Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a precious mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Elizabeth Rebecca Moss, who passed peacefully away at Gander Longterm Care September 15, 2024. Predeceased by husband, Heber Moss; daughter, Judy Moss; parents, William and Rebecca Penny; sisters, Bertha Matchim and Elsie Jane Turner. Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories daughter, Brenda Quinton; son-in-law, Steve Quinton; grandsons Justin Quinton (Jenna Osmond) and Jordan Quinton; great grandson, Jacob Quinton and Jacob’s mom, Viki Wilson. She also leaves to mourn nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.

Elizabeth had a warmth that shone from her heart, having touched so many lives by the way she served, the way she gave and the way she cared. She was a Sunday School teacher and a Brownie leader. Her church community was a major part of her life. She was a devoted member of the ACW and served on the Altar Guild. She worked in various businesses in her community and managed a general store for several years.

Elizabeth was someone who reached out to others with compassion, honesty and understanding and made people feel so lucky to know her. Her family has so many reasons to be grateful for her love. The light of her life were her grandsons, Justin and Jordan, and her great grandson, Jacob, to whom she showed love that only a grandmother can.

Special thanks to Oram’s Birchview Manor, Bethesda Manor and Lakeside Homes for the outstanding care Elizabeth received while a resident there. A big thank you to the team on Blueberry Lane, Gander Longterm Care where she spent the last two years surrounded by so much love and care. These health-care providers are true professionals and Elizabeth was so lucky to have had them by her side day and night.

Special thanks, also, to Selby and Sylvia Moss for their frequent visits to be with Elizabeth and for their prayers and sing-a-longs, so enjoyed by her and many other residents. And to Aunt Keg (Catherine Turner Ryan) our forever friend. To Steve, the rock that we leaned on, many, many thanks.
