Kenneth W. Thiede, 87, went to eternal rest on September 12, 2024.

This loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born and raised in Chicago. He was a graduate of the Lindblom Math & Science Academy and later served as a petty officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. He had a long and distinguished career in the travel industry at notable companies and trade unions such as Capital Airlines, United Airlines and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Ken is survived by his wife Ellen; son James and his wife Kelli; grandchildren Alex and Claire. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Charlotte Thiede; son Thomas; brother Louis Jr.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at 10:30am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 202 E. Schaumburg Rd, Schaumburg, IL, with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00am. Interment will be privately held.

In Lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Ken’s memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
