Brian Scott Snyder, beloved husband, brother, and uncle, passed away on September 12, 2024 at ChristianaCare Hospital in Christiana, Delaware surrounded by family. Scott was born in Lewistown on October 9, 1964 to the late Glenn and Verna (Allison) Snyder. He is survived by his wife Tammy, and brother Glenn (Lisa) of Lewistown. Also surviving are his niece Lyndsey Beasley (Frank) of Centreville, Virginia; nephews Matthew Snyder (Heeju) of Charlottesville, Virginia and Brandon Soccio of Burnham; great-nephews Franklin Beasley III and Rowan Soccio; great-nieces Anna Beasley and Elise Snyder; father- and mother-in-law Robert and Christine Soccio of Burnham; sisters-in-law Kelly Laird (Robert) of Burnham and Amy Soccio (Steve) of Lewistown.
Scott graduated from Lewistown Area High School in 1983 and Williamsport Area Community College in 1985. His technical skills garnered a successful career wherein he dedicated over 35 years to Philips (Echo) Ultrasound in Reedsville as a Senior Skilled Assembler. In addition to his work at Philips, he provided an array of landscaping services to clients around the community. He spent many years helping his parents farm and sell a variety of Christmas Trees on property next to their homes.
Scott married his best friend, Tammy (Soccio), on April 11, 1992. Together, they loved attending classic rock concerts, traveling to Jamaica and their annual vacation to Dewey Beach. They spent summers relishing the solitude of their home away from home - a cabin in New Lancaster Valley. In recent years, Scott enjoyed the art of woodcarving and looked forward to joining Tammy at craft shows to showcase his work. While they had no children, they treated their niece and nephew as their own and fiercely supported all of their endeavors - spending many winters traveling with Glenn and Lisa to Matt’s collegiate wrestling events across the country.
Scott was a lifelong hunter and firearms enthusiast. It was a rare sight for him to be seen without a camouflage shirt, hat, or jacket. Alongside his dad and brother, he enjoyed hunting on their family’s property in Juniata County. He often traveled to hunt in West Virginia and Ohio, and occasionally visited outfitters in Saskatchewan, Canada for unique hunting experiences.
Scott attended Strodes Mills Baptist Church. As an organ and tissue donor, his last selfless act was providing a second chance at life to those in need.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the King Funeral Home and Crematory, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 18 from 6-9PM and on Thursday, September 19 from 10-11AM. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Rock Cemetery in Lewistown.
