Richard J. Ceceri, Sr. Obituary

Richard J. Ceceri, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Coventry, RI. He was the loving husband of the late Therese C. “Terry” (Trombley) Ceceri for 45 years until her passing in 2010. He was born in Providence, RI to the late Vincent A. and Maria A. (Toro) Ceceri.

Richard graduated from the American College of Financial Services where he earned his ChFC designation during his long and successful career as a financial planner. In 1969, he began with the company now known as Ameriprise Financial. With hard work and dedication, he built an amazing business where he advised and guided so many of his beloved clients to achieve financial success. He adored his clients and always treated them like his family. Also, during his career, he enjoyed mentoring new advisors to help them achieve their potential and often shared with them his best practices. His door was always open to everyone for advice and help.

When he was not working, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed sailing on Johnsons Pond, cruising Narragansett Bay on his boat “Cheers”, golfing at Valley Country Club, snowmobiling in Maine, playing cards with his friends, and traveling all over our beautiful country with his late wife. He would be the first to tell you “I have truly lived a great life.”

He leaves behind his daughter, Sandra (Ceceri) Peters and her husband Wayne of Coventry, RI; his son, Michael Ceceri of Salem, MA; and his daughter-in-law, Caroline (Rosenbaum) Ceceri of Narragansett, RI. He was predeceased by his son, Richard J. Ceceri, Jr. He was the loving grandfather to Matthew Petrarca, Andrew Peters, Thomas Peters, Adam Peters, Samuel Ceceri and Skylar Ceceri; great-grandfather to Octavia Petrarca and Janus Petrarca and brother of the late Vincent A. Ceceri.
