Unite with us in prayer as we reflect on the life of Mr. Lenward Lee Hooker Sr., 84, of Kinston died on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his residence.

Lenward was born December 15, 1939, Jones County to the late Harold Hooker and Rebell Gardner

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Celia Hooker of the home, four daughters, Diane Harris of High Point, NC, Tresa Ann Barnes Benjamin of Georgia; Patricia Bass (Ray) of Goldsboro, NC and Barbara Sutton of Kinston, NC; three sons, Lenward Lee Hooker Jr. of Kinston, NC, Leonard Moot Hooker Jr. of Maryland; and Harold Hooker of Charlotte, NC, as well as a stepson, William Sutton, of Kinston, NC. one brother, AZ Hooker of Kinston, NC,21 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The service remembering his life and legacy will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from the Memorial Chapel of Trinity Funeral Service 1276 US HWY 258 N. Kinston, NC. 

Mr. Hooker will lie in state for public viewing one hour prior to the service.
