John William Ziebold, age 69, passed away peacefully following a seven-year battle with cancer on September 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.

John was born in Red Bud, IL to Clifton and Dorothy Ziebold (nee Burkhardt). John married Debra Ziebold (nee Sanders) on September 9, 1978; lovingly together for over 50 years prior to his passing.

He is survived by his beloved wife Debra; his children Dawn (Bret) Brooks, J.C. (Amber) Ziebold, Jamie (Alex) Nilson; grandchildren Weston, Lauren, and Taylor Brooks, and Ella and Ford Nilson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a Lieutenant with Florissant Police Officer Reserves for 22 years. A '78 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla. He was a mechanical engineer with Olin Corporation in Alton, IL for 25 years. And, he was a volunteer of the Florissant Athletic Association for over 20 years; supporting children, playing soccer, softball, and baseball. John enjoyed spending time with family, helping others, and was known as "Mr. Fix It".

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Evelyn's House Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm

at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Road, Florissant, MO 63031

Service will be held on Friday, September 20th, 2024 at 11:00am at Hutchens Mortuary.

Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery to immediately follow service.
