Buster Dale Moore, 75, the widower of Helen June Mills Moore, departed this life, Thursday, September 12, 2024, at MUSC Florence Medical Center.

Mr. Moore was born the son of George Presley Moore and Thelma Lee Michau Moore on September 13, 1948, in Andrews. He was born the fourth child of five siblings, George Presley, Ruby Lee, Faye, and Linda. He was the owner and operator of Moore’s Oceda Grocery/Dale’s Country Store, which was also known as “Dale Moore’s”. He was small town famous for his world known chili & his love of Gamecock chickens. When he wasn’t being a smart witted comedian behind the store counter, he enjoyed reading westerns, hog hunting & fishing. He was a member of the Hell Hole Coon Club, Wee Tee Hunting Club, Briar Bed Hunting Club, and the Southern Game Fowl Association. His daughters were his life for years, even though they will tell you that he loved his old Massey Ferguson tractor more than he loved them. In his later years, however, everyone knew his grandbabies were the true light of his life.

Dale married the love of his life, June, on January 11, 1974, and celebrated 22 years together. Their home was blessed with two children, Myra M. Watkins (James) and Karen Wilson; seven grandchildren, Alexandra “Lizzie” Woodfin (Chuck), Brennan Kelley, Robert “RD” Wilson, Kaelynn Wilson, Kensley Wilson, Remington Wilson, and Karolina Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Kynlee and Skyla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; and his siblings, George Presley Moore, II, Ruby Lee Thomas, Faye Moore, and Linda Litchfield.

A Graveside Service will be 4PM, Monday, September 16, 2024, at Suttons Methodist Church Cemetery, 3168 Santee Road, Andrews.

The Moore family will receive family and friends 5-7PM, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, 610 South Rosemary Ave., Andrews.
