Rafiyya Nafeesah Cupcake Welton was born on August 14, 1988, a beautiful 10lb 5oz baby with a head full of hair. Rafiyya (a.k.a. Fee Fee) was born at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She was born to Katherine Welton and James Divine Pearson. Fee Fee was raised by her stepfather, Donzell Johnson, who raised her like his own.

Rafiyya was educated in the Newark public school system. She attended Malcolm X Shabazz High School, and then continued her education by attending cosmetology school.

Rafiyya was a very loving, caring and giving person. She was also funny and gifted with her hands. She was known as a very talented hairstylist who was self-taught, as she started practicing on her friends and mothers at the age of 12. She was self-motivated when it came to hair and makeup.

Fee Fee knew how to make her coins and get the bag. Her smile and laugh were contagious. She was known throughout New Jersey as well as outside of the state. Rafiyya always posted her hairstyles on Instagram and Facebook. She spoke her mind. Rafiyya was known for having NO filter and speaking her mind from a young age. She would tell you how she felt...PERIOD! She got that from her great grandmother, Lessie Welton, being raised Old School.

Sadly, on August 17, 2024, Rafiyya departed this life. She leaves behind: her mother, Katherine Welton; her father, James Divine Pearson; stepfather, Donzell Johnson; her grandmother, Zeater Welton; uncles, Kelvin Welton and Maurice Welton; a great aunt, Verline Miller; her sons, Damari Alexander and Zymir Rogers; Godchildren, Kha-Ron Smallwood and Makalah Hammer; her siblings, Lateim Welton, Baseemah Welton, Al Welton, Zakee Welton, Majid Johnson, Shaheed Johnson and Chanel Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
