Sherri R. Gwaltney, age 76, of Rittman, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at her home in Rittman, with her family by her side, and following a long period of declining health.

Sherri was born on November 28, 1947, in Wadsworth, to the late Arthur and Isabelle (McFarland) Campbell, graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1965, and married Thomas R. Gwaltney on December 9, 1967, in Rittman.

She worked various jobs while raising her children and then worked in the Audit Department for Westfield Insurance for 32 years, retiring in 2016.

Sherri enjoyed horseback riding, hiking, and shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband Tom Gwaltney; daughter, Lori (Scott) Piciacchia of Rittman; son, David (Jessie) Gwaltney of Seville; three grandchildren, Alexis Piciacchia, Isabella Piciacchia, and Thomas A. Gwaltney; two sisters-in-law, Pat Campbell of Wadsworth and Shirley (Emmett) Walch of Bowie, MD; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Steele of Rittman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Karen King; brother, Terry Campbell; brother-in-law, Edward King; and sister-in-law, Janet Steele.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Rittman Cemetery, with Pastor David Harstine officiating.
