Melba Jean Garner, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Franklin Manor. She was born in Aurora, Missouri, on May 13, 1939, to the late Walter William and Dorothy Nell (Bradley) Hunter. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and gardening, as well as canning in her younger years. A wonderful seamstress, Melba enjoyed sewing and needlepoint projects. Along with her late husband, Charlie, she enjoyed camping trips. She cherished the time spent with her beloved family and was especially focused on taking care of her children and grandchildren. Melba was a member of Way of the Cross Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Garner; and granddaughter, Tabitha Garner Kolankiewicz. Melba is survived by her loving children, Larry Garner, Gary (Debbie) Garner, and Delinda McDonald; grandchildren, Tyler Garner, Lacy Mangione, and Hannah McDonald; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Kolankiewicz, Natalie Kolankiewicz, and Dutch Wyman Hobbs.
