Truman Partin Obituary

Reverend Truman Lee Partin, 91, of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Middlesboro Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Bell County, on August 3, 1933, a son of the late Vantoy and Bertha Hunter Partin. He attended Bell County High School before entering the US Army Truman was a Sergent serving during the Korean War.. from 1950-1953 and earning two Purple Hearts. He was ordained as a minister in the Baptist Faith in April 1969 and loved preaching the gospel for over 55 years. He had been a truck driver for Scot Lad Foods for 20 years.. Truman loved spending time golfing, four wheeling, and spending time with his church family and his immediate family. He had also been a Kentucky Colonel.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Joyce Hurst Partin, son David Allen Partin, brothers, Toy Ree Partin, Jr., and Lonnie Rondol Partin and sisters, Edna Fuson, Velma Sharpe, Bessie Neal, and Evelyn Miracle.

Survivors include his son, Terry Lee Partin and wife, Glada; grandchildren, Colby Partin, Julia Partin, Paige Kathleen Swaney and Riley Nicole Mason; great grandchildren, Mason Lee Swaney and Morgan Curtis Swaney; sister, Lola Partin Ellison and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.


Services will be on Tuesday, September 17,2024, at 11:00 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev, Clint Goodin and Rev. Wayland Hunter. The music will be by Barry Barton and friends. The burial will be in the Shelton Cemetery on Hwy 190. Military Honors will be by the Jellico Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends.


The family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 4:00 Pm until 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville who is honored to serve the Partin Family.
