Michael Charles Heffelman, 44, of Marshallville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with the disease that he dealt with for many years.

Michael was born on March 31, 1980 in Wadsworth to Neal and Patricia Ann (Shuck) Heffelman and was a 1999 graduate of Rittman High School.  He had worked at Plastipak in Medina for 27 years and had made his home in Rittman and Marshallville all of his life.  He enjoyed playing Rummy, watching the Guardians and wrestling and going out to eat.   Michael had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.

Surviving is his brother, Steven Heffelman and his life partner, Matthew Murray; nephew, Xavier Riggens; aunts and uncles, Charles Shuck, Pam and Ray Cottrell, Karen Moore, Kathy and Jim Killough, and Greg Shuck and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Crystal Heffelman, his grandparents and an aunt, Loretta Jervis.

Services will be Monday, Sept. 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastors Doug Watts and Dave Thomblin officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
