Annamarie (DiEnna) Zappley (68), born September 1, 1956, to Francis and Annastasia DiEnna, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 12, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer. Loving wife of Gregory Zappley, and doting dog-mom to Mia and Mattie, Annamarie is predeceased by her newborn daughter, Nicole Zappley; parents; mother-in-law, Carolyn Zappley; brother and sister-in-law, Francis DiEnna (Anne); cousin, Rebecca Bennett (Mark); and several members of her large, extended family. Annamarie is survived by her husband, Gregory Zappley; brother, Robert DiEnna (Ginny); nieces, Dawnanne Harrer (Micheal), Eve Hanley (Matt), Michele Haines (Troy), Gina Procida (Lou), Melissa Perry (Andy); nephew Frank DiEnna, Jr. (Maria); great nieces/nephews Michael, Brooke, Austin, Emily, Sean, Alex, Christian, Natalie, Ella, and Lilly; and large extended family both locally and in Indiana.
Annamarie lived near or with her parents for their entire lives, as their daughter, friend, and caretaker. Annamarie was also the glue that held together the extended family through constant communication, meals, and holiday celebrations, especially the Christmas Eve feast of the seven fishes.
Known as Aunt Ah to her nieces and nephews and Anna to most others, Annamarie loved her family and friends fiercely and with generosity, loyalty, and strength. To her nieces/nephews and their close friends, Aunt Ah was a nurturer and confidant, always ready for an adventure and eager to provide support. Aunt Ah loved to shop and travel. Most of all, Aunt Ah loved to love and spoil her "kids."
Annamarie spent over two decades at Harry Eklof & Associates, in Moorestown, New Jersey, where, in addition to serving as an inside sales associate, her knowledge, expertise, and natural penchant for helping others resulted in her colleagues and customers becoming very close friends and even family. Annamarie’s contribution to Harry Eklof & Associates, is beyond quantifiable. Annamarie leaves a legacy of hard work, productivity, and, most importantly, personal concern and support for those around her.
Annamarie is already missed by so many. Her loving heart, sense of humor, and unapologetic way of being in the world showed us the importance of interpersonal connections and self-advocacy. There will never be another “Anna.” Rest peacefully, painlessly, and with the knowledge that we know you are still loving and protecting us.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday September 18th from 10-10:45 AM at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church,100 Willow Bend Rd., Marlton, NJ 08053. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
