Mrs. Anita Lee (Wimberly) Martin, age 72, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Mena, Arkansas. She was born September 13, 1951, in Mena, Arkansas, to parents, LeRoy and Mary Frances (Brown) Wimberly.

Anita married her childhood playmate and high school sweetheart, Lewis Martin on July 13, 1968. Anita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Anita was an artist, she loved to draw, paint and do crafts. She would cut up pieces of a magazine and make pictures of streams, barns, cars, trucks etc. When her son Bobby was little, she would write stories about animals and read them to him, she also wrote poems, Anita was a very talented lady. Anita was ordained as a minister of the Pentecostal Church of God on August 25, 2004. Anita was a pastor’s wife for over 30 years, she taught youth classes, did children’s ministry, taught Sunday school, and adult classes. She was a preacher that believed in the power of the word of God. Anita was a member of Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God.

Mrs. Anita Lee Wimberly Martin was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Wimberly; mother, Mary (Frances) Wimberly; and by her sister, Edna (Frances) Pumphrey. She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Martin of Mena, Arkansas; son, Bobby Martin and wife, Amy of Mena, Arkansas; grandsons, Justin Martin and wife Whitney of Mena, Arkansas; Cody Martin of Mena, Arkansas; Brent Sockey and wife Kacey of Mena, Arkansas; granddaughter, Brittney Sockey of Mena, Arkansas; sister, Donna Batten and husband, Bobby of Cove, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Alayna, Ambrose, Finnley, Gracie, Hunter, Hayslee, Reed, Reeanna.

Services for Mrs. Anita Lee (Wimberly) Martin will be held, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Union Mission Pentecostal Church of God, in Mena, Arkansas. Reverend Tim Rose, Reverend Brad Dick, and Reverend Debbie Staggs will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena, Arkansas. The pallbearers are Bobby Batten, Bill McLane, Dale McLane, Billy McLane, Cody Martin, and Justin Martin. Visitation will be general.
