Pat was born January 21, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Edmond and Louise Pines, and she spent her early years in Auburn, NY. After her marriage to Bob in 1965, she lived in Ogdensburg, NY, Barre, VT and Binghamton, NY before settling in Geneva in 1975.
Pat's long career at Hobart and William Colleges began in the late 1970's when she became the Catering Director and Special Events Manager, a position she held for 36 years until her retirement. Every bride wanted Pat to cater her wedding, and she went above and beyond to make her couples happy. She truly put her heart and soul into her work! When she wasn't spending the weekend catering a wedding or an HWS event, she managed the faculty dining room and did all she could to make the HWS faculty and staff happy.
Her impact on HWS alumni, staff and professors was evident in the cards, flowers and gifts she received at the holidays every year, even after retiring. While at HWS, Pat was very proud of the Faculty Award and Honorary Doctorate Degree she received in 2010 for her dedicated service to HWS and the Geneva community.
The family would like to thank the Wilmot Cancer Center in Geneva and the Ontario-Yates Hospice, especially Karen Strickland, for their wonderful care and treating our mother like family. We are grateful for their compassion and guidance these past five years. In addition, we would like to thank her special friends Tammy, Shar, Judy and Michaela for their visits, phone calls, conversation and friendship over the years.
