Mary Ann Shoemake, 92, formerly of Belton, Texas passed 4:25 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Traditions at Bristol Village, Waverly, Ohio.

Mary was born September 14, 1931, in Eldorado, Texas, the daughter of the late Sherman Shoemake, and Ruth (Moore) Shoemake.

She is survived by a niece, Deanna Kritzwiser and husband Verlin “Cookie”; great niece, Leanna Montgomery and Aaron Kempton; great great niece, Gracelynn Bigham; special caretaker, Kathy Wagner from; and many great friends from Woodland Point Lake Belton, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Edna Anderson and husband, Clarence.

Mary was a charter member of the Foundation Church in Temple, Texas. She was a graduate of San Saba High School class of 1950, attended University of Texas-Austin and University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton Texas where she resided for over 50 years until moving to Waverly, Ohio in 2022 to be close to her niece. Mary retired from the Texas Department of Health, as Program Administrator of Long-Term Care. She loved playing Rummy Cube and watching the Hallmark channel. In her free time, Mary enjoyed traveling the world.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Pastors Harley Roston and Brent Keeton officiating. A private burial will be held Wednesday at Omega Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the beginning of the service on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to the Foundation Church, 10751 W. Adams Ave., Temple, Texas 76502.
