Adam Koble, 84, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024 in his home.
Adam was born December 28, 1939, to Walter and Barbara (Welk) Koble in Drake, ND. He grew up on a farm near Orrin with his five siblings, of which he was the second oldest.
Adam was united in marriage to Irene Thomas on November 18, 1961, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe, ND. They made their home in Minot where they raised their three children. Adam and Irene loved dancing to polka music, even winning a trophy at the KC Club. Adam loved to watch NASCAR racing, take power naps, and was known for his generosity. He helped anyone who needed it and loved to give gifts.
Adam served in the US Army from 1959-1961. After his military service, he worked three jobs: Civil Service at the Minot Air Force Base, Jundt’s Westland Service Station, and for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune. In 1972, Adam put forth his strong work ethic by buying his first truck and starting Koble and Sons Trucking. The company grew, with son, Mohn, joining in 1982, and daughter, Sharlatte, soon after. After 34 years of trucking, the company was retired in 2006.
Adam will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 62 years, Irene, Minot; children, Mohn (Julia) Koble and Sharlatte (Tim) Marchant, all of Minot; grandchildren, Shannon (Casey) Schmidt, Minot, Mikayla (David) Reed, Vincennes, IN, Mark (Mollie) Koble, Bismarck, Alex Koble, Minot, Ashley Marchant, Adam Marchant, both of Minot; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Anjuli, Ava, Oliver, Isaac, and Magdalene Schmidt of Minot, Sebastian, Rose, Maximilian, and Clare Koble of Bismarck; brother, LeRoy (Juliann) Koble, sisters, Tina Berg, Diane (Terry) Olson, and Shirley (Dennis) Rost; many brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Leon, brother, Jim, brother-in-law, Don Berg.
Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
