Barbara J. Francis, 78, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024 in Hamilton, NJ. Affectionately known as “Nana”, she was surrounded by her loving family.  

Barbara was born in Durham, North Carolina on October 13, 1945 to Ben and Marie Barnes. After moving to New Jersey, she attended the Trenton Public Schools. At 19, she married Roosevelt Francis Sr. on May 6,1965, in Ewing, NJ. Their children are Jimmy, Roosevelt Jr., Alvin, Gwendolyn, Rosina, Kimberly, and Alberta. 

Barbara worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ for many years. She enjoyed attending church. Her hobbies included grocery shopping, cooking, gardening, and caring for her houseplants. Her favorite pastime was watching General Hospital. “Nana” loved hosting holiday gatherings, especially Thanksgiving.  

She is predeceased by her loving husband Roosevelt Sr., 2 grandchildren, her parents, 3 siblings, a daughter-in-law, and special aunts. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great -great- grandchildren, siblings, and a host of extended family and friends.  

Funeral service will be 10:30am Monday, September 16, 2024 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 471 Parkway Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. Calling hours will be 9am until the time of service. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
