Robert E. Yeager, loving father, grandpa, great grandpa and uncle

Eldred- Robert E. Yeager, of Eldred, PA., passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness.

Bob was born in Wolf Run, PA. on March 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Herbert and Velma Westover Yeager. On June 16, 1956, he married the love of his life, the former Nancy J. Schneller, who predeceased him July 15, 2023.

Bob graduated from Bradford High School, then joined United States Air Force serving a 22-year career. He was a military police officer, then became a weapons instructor who taught marksmanship. In the sixties, he won a gold medal and numerous other medals in the Pan American Games for his shooting skills. He owned and operated a family run  small engine repair shop, the Engine Doctors with his son. When not working on engines, he loved to be outdoors, fishing and hunting. He loved his family, and really enjoyed his grandkids sporting events.

Bob is survived by his children, Julie A. Yeager, Steve E. (Amy Hill) Yeager and Eddie Coast, who was like a 2nd son; four granddaughters, Kimberly (Josh) Bolibaugh, Tamra (Jeff Baker) Yeager, Brittney (Cullen Playter) Yeager and Brandi (Korby) Evans; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Natalee, Olivia, Addison, Hazel and Hunter; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Nancy; his parents, Herbert and Velma; 2 brothers, Leonard “Dean” Yeager and Leon “Red” Yeager

Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 East State Street, Olean, on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m., Deacon Matt Wenke to officiate. Full military honors to be accorded by the Allegany American Legion. Entombment will take place Monday 11 a.m. September 16, 2024, in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette, PA.
