Peter Aldo Galgani Sr., the man whose smile could brighten any room
passed away on September 9, 2024. Born in the Bronx, NY, on March 12,
1934.
With his childhood sweetheart Josephine by his side for 68 remarkable
years, Peter's love story was one for the books. He was the proud patriarch
of his family that includes his children Gina, David, Mary (Bruce), Peter Jr.
(Susan), and Lisa (Rob), and his legacy continues with 17 grandchildren
and 8 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way. He is survived by his
sister Diane Leone with endless cousins, nieces and nephews. He joins his
predeceased sister Lora Salustro and his angel, Tracey Galgani.
A Korean War Veteran, Peter's life consisted of puppets, piano, magic
tricks, jokes, a love for cigars, Aramis cologne, Paul Mitchell hairspray, card
games, Pinot Grigio, Arthur Ave, a good espresso & Dunk! Selfless and
kind, he was the life of every party and the heart of his family. Peter wants
to you to remember that life is short: “I was born- I blinked- and it was over.”
He urges us all to “Do your best, “Bite the Bullet” and “never stop smiling.”
When you think of him, know he is in an apartment on Arthur Ave with his
baby girl smiling. In lieu of flowers donations to Disabled American Veterans https://www.dav.org/
would be appreciated.
