Karen W. Rieder, 76, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday, September 9, 2024 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus following an extended illness.  She was born September 27, 1947 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Earl and Annette (Ludwig) Whitmore.  On February 17, 1979 she married David L. Rieder.

Surviving is her husband of 45 years, David L. Rieder, Chillicothe; her daughter, Patricia Kachmyers, Cleveland; her son, Andrew (Sarah) Rieder, Waverly and two grandchildren, Gabriel and Simon.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karen had worked as an HR specialist for Revco Pharmacies.  She was a member of AAUW, the Ross County League of Women Voters, Friends of the Chillicothe Library, and was active in her community.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by her family and friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, September 16, 2024 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests the memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Pump House Center for the Arts.
