John Everett Cox, age 80, a resident of the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center passed away Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born April 23, 1944, in Estill County and was the son of the late Rollie and Betty Lewis Richardson Cox. He served over 20 years in the National Guard and was the former owner of Cox Insurance Agency. He was a member of the Greenbriar Baptist Church and attended the Irvine Nazarene Church. He was also a member of the Irvine Masonic Lodge. He is survived by:

2 daughters: Kim (Jimmy) Cox - Estill Co.

Paula (Greg) Adams - Estill Co.

1 brother: Freddie Cox - Warsaw, KY

1 grandson: Micah Adams

5 nephews: Buddy Cox, Obe Cox, Wayne Henry, Tim Henry, and Todd Henry

1 niece: Becky Cox

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Henry Cox, and his grandson, Dalton Adams.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 13, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:30 AM to 1 PM.
