GAMACHE, JAUNITA M. (JAYCOX), 72, of Ledyard, CT, and formerly of Cranston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, September 9, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Robert E. Gamache Jr. in 2007. Born and raised in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Estelle (Gauthier) Jaycox.

She was the mother of Linda Adams Guadagno and Robert E. Gamache III and his wife Erin. She was the grandmother of Nikkolas, Maci, Robert IV, Cameron, and the late Alexa; and the great-grandmother of Xavier and Julian. Jaunita was the sister of Henry, Steven, Michael, Guy, Sam and the late Joe, Wanda and Daniel Jaycox.  Jaunita was blessed with many nieces and nephews who she adored. 

After a long and dedicated career at the Phone Company, Jaunita spent her retirement years caring for numerous children that she treated as her own. Jaunita took so much pride in every family she was a part of, and all of her children referred to her as "Noni".

Jaunita was kind, caring, selfless, giving, and genuinely good. She cared deeply for everyone she crossed paths with, and she meant so much to so many people. She was always so active in her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives and she brought them so much joy.  Her love for her family knew no bounds.  

Jaunita, and her late husband Robert enjoyed traveling, concerts, and spending time with friends and family.  

For many years, she participated in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising Walks. 

The loss of Jaunita is a heavy one and we can hold on tightly to all of the fond and joyful memories that she has left us.  Her hopeful spirit fought until the very end and she will live on through all of us that she touched throughout her amazing life.

Family and friends are invited to a Wake for Jaunita which will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry.
