John Rosile passed away peacefully at home in the comfort of his family at the age of 89 on September 9th, 2024. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jane, his daughters Annette (Jerry) Frost and Nadine Sloan; his five grandchildren, Andrea, Alisia, Julia, Ryan and Justin and four great grandchildren, Connor, Owen, Olivia and Emma. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Frank Rosile, Frances Chiaberta, Mary Darland and Philip Rosile.
John was born on August 7th, 1935 in Hubbard Ohio to Christopher Rosile and Mary Grace Malagisi. He moved to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh-Pharmacy School where he graduated in 1957. He met his wife in 1955 at the local Arsenal Drug store where she worked at the soda fountain and the rest was history when they tied the knot on August 31st 1957. John bought his first pharmacy, Pike Pharmacy, in 1963 and then Cannon Pharmacy in 1982, which he owned and operated until his retirement.
John was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports, with a special love for his Pirates. He enjoyed golfing and, in his younger years, skiing with his daughters and his son-in-law Jerry. He also enjoyed weekly poker and gin-rummy games with friends. He had a deep appreciation for opera music, which brought him great joy throughout his life, as did a large bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. John, with his wife, shared many wonderful years ballroom dancing as well as countless unforgettable travels together.
John will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished friend. His quick wit will be profoundly missed, yet the countless laughs and joyful memories he left us will be treasured always.
