A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Helen Ann Weeks Tassin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at St. Peters Catholic Church, Elmer, with Father Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Elmer, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mrs. Tassin, 81, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a retired rural mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Circle of Friends at St. Peters Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge, crocheting, and the occasional trip to the casino. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Tassin; and her parents, Pete “T.T.” Weeks and Leta Weeks.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Steven “Butch” Tassin of Forest Hill; two daughters, Tiffany Harvey (Jerry) of Effie, and Stephanie Channels (Rusty) of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Corkey Weeks Bruce of Natchitoches; eight grandchildren, Clint Perkins, Dutch Perkins, Kasey Carr, Trey Harvey, Nicole Stanch, Josh Littleton, Kim Littleton, and Steven Tassin; and sixteen great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, Elmer, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 12:00 noon until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jerry Harvey, Rusty Channels, Clint Perkins, Dutch Perkins, Josh Littleton, and Steven Tassin.
