We celebrate the life of Jane Kelly Hornaday, who was born on March 12, 1936, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, and passed away on September 9, 2024. Jane enriched the lives of those around her with her unwavering love, devotion, and an unyielding spirit that acted as a beacon of strength. Her heart held an immeasurable love for her family. Her grandson, Christopher, was the light of her life, and her son, Eddie, was her treasured gem. Jane enjoyed watching "Boobie" and David drag race, and her dedication saw her working alongside her husband and son in the family business.
Jane was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and led her life according to its teachings. It was here that she found a solace and strength that she shared generously with others. Her life was an embodiment of the quote, “The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness.” Her love was unconditional, her forgiveness absolute, and her kindness knew no bounds.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Karen Mauney (Tommy); sons, Carl “Eddie” Hornaday and Edwin Hornaday; sister, Irene Tillery; grandchildren, Christopher Mauney and Megan Beza (Nic); nephew, Tim Crumpton (Karen); niece, Julie Miles (Richard); great-nephew, Brandon Miles; and special friends, Teresa Metts and Lisa Metts.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Lynn Truman "Boobie" Hornaday; son, David Hornaday; parents, Dolph Kelly and Ethel Kelly; sister, Bernice Kelly; and brother-in-law, Gene Tillery.
A special thank you to Janet Branham for all you have done for mama and our family.
