Winford "Wink" Coleman, age 76, and a resident of Elyria, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 9, 2024, while in hospice with family at his side.

Winford was born on July 17, 1948, in Pikeville, KY to the late Gilbert and Celia Coleman (née Bostic). After graduating from Mullins High School, he proudly served in the United States Army. After serving one year in Vietnam, he moved to Lorain, Ohio, where he worked as a Roller in the Bar Mill with United States Steel for 33 years.

In his spare time, Wink followed UK basketball and Ohio State football. However, nothing held more of a special place in his heart than spending time with his family.

Wink was a humble, hardworking man always willing to help those in need.

In addition to his parents, Gilbert and Celia Coleman, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Wink is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 56 years, Christy, his son Jason (Jenn) Coleman, his daughter Rebecca Coleman, his three grandchildren: Sidney, Paige and Kyle Coleman; his brother Carl (Jane) Phillips, his sister Alice Smith, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

Family will receive friends and family on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway ave., Lorain, OH 4402 from 5 PM to 8 PM with closing prayers at 7 PM.
