Raymond "Ray" J. Deschenes Obituary

Raymond "Ray" J. Deschenes, age 84 of Coatesville, PA died in hospice care Monday, September 9th, 2024, after a long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Nicole R. Deschenes with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.

Born in St. Lin, QC Canada, he was the oldest son of the late Lauredent Deschenes and the late Antoinette F. Deschenes.

During his adolescent years, he relocated to south Florida, where he attended high school. In 1964, he earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami, but the emerging field of computer science captured his professional interest. His career included employment at ADP, Dupont, and most recently Marvin & Palmer Associates, from which he retired in 2008.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square and served as a Session Elder. Aviation also fascinated him, and he held a pilot's license for several years, flying both private fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. He had a passion for summer weather, good wine, ice cream, colorful jokes, and the redeeming love of Jesus Christ.

Ray is survived by his wife Nicole, his two sons Alexandre and Eric, his brother Pierre and his wife Barbara, and their children Mark Deschenes and Julie Kress.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21st at the Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square, 211 South Broad Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348, at 10:00am followed by a service at 11:00am. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.
