Misty Lynn Polson, a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, in Denison, Texas, at the age of 49. Born on December 29, 1974, in Durant, Oklahoma, Misty's warm presence and friendly demeanor touched the lives of all who knew her.

Misty dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse, a role she fulfilled with compassion and excellence in all the local nursing homes. Her commitment to her profession was evident in the gentle care she provided and the lasting relationships she built with her patients and colleagues.

She was a lover of classic country music, finding joy in the simple pleasure of listening to timeless tunes. Misty also loved driving down country back roads, where she enjoyed the beauty of nature and the open sky.

Misty's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Kalee Buchanan of Durant, and Sarah Polson of Calera; her son, Garrett Morace; her father, Rickey Lynn Buchanan of Durant; her grandchild Joan Wagner of Calera; her brother, Rickey Shawn Buchanan of Durant; her grandfather, Alvin Lee Buchanan of Durant; her uncle BJ Mullens and his wife Lisa; her niece, Alexa Buchanan of Durant; her nephew, Shawn Buchanan of Durant; and her cousins, Johnny Christian of Durant, Michael Christian of Norman, Elizabeth McIver of Altus, Jacky Robertson of Dallas, Dustin Mullens, Ethan Mullens, Tori Mullens, Danni Blue, Brigette Hambrick, JT Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, and Kendall Kennedy.

Misty was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Buchanan; her grandmother, Ailene Buchanan; her aunts, Delphia Corbett, Dora Dean Kennedy, Doris Anna Percell, and Becky Lester; and her uncles, Jerry Paul Mullens and William Edly Mullens.

Family and friends will gather at her family hour on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2024 in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Monty Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Those serving as pallbearers are BJ Mullens, Garrett Morace, Shawn Buchanan, Chris Harkey, Michael Christian, and Johnny Christian.
