Sue Ann Preston, 87 of Radnor, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, September 9, 2024 at Danbury Nursing Home & Rehabilitation in Westerville.

Born July 7, 1937, in Lucasville, Ohio the daughter of the late Arlyn & Neva Noel (McKenzie) Violet. Sue Ann graduated from Lucasville Valley High School in 1955. She would go on to attend the Ohio University and then received her bachelor’s degree in teaching from The Ohio State University. Sue Ann dedicated her life to being a teacher, she received certifications in Special Education. She taught at North Union High School, and retired after 22 years of service.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 66 years, the man she knew she was going to marry since the 5th grade, Joseph “Joe” Preston; children Laurie (John) Haas, Joel (Stacey) Preston, Anne (Charles) Whalley; son-in-law Glenn Byrd; grandchildren Hannah (Ronald Hill) Haas, Emma (Aaron) Lake, Brittney Byrd, Sidney Preston and Morgan Preston; great grandchildren Domenica & Gianna Wilson, Lorelei & Ronan Lake and Jarren Hill; 4 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Megan Byrd in 2014 and brother Jon Violet in 1999.

Sue Ann was a voracious reader, enjoyed having her kitties around and enjoyed history, including genealogy. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Those close to her will remember her as the loving, kind, and supportive mother, grandmother, and sister that she was.

Private family graveside services took place at Thompson Township Cemetery in Radnor, Ohio.
