Connie Elizabeth Beard, affectionately known by some as Liz, was born on November 10, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas. She passed away on September 9, 2024, in Northwest Arkansas.
Connie was a loving mother and MeMe/MiMi, survived by her daughters Rachel Remington and her husband Bobby Remington, and Dawn Sponsler and her husband Ryan Sponsler. She also leaves behind her son Michael Beard and his wife Jimmie Beard. Connie was a proud MeMe/MiMi to numerous grandchildren: Jordin Elizabeth Remington, Bryce Alan Remington and his wife Zoey Nicole Remington, Korben Michael Sponsler, Gabriel James Smith, Kenedi Allison Sponsler, Andrew Lincoln Beard, Keagan James Sponsler, Harlie Rae Beard, Samuel Wade Beard, and Koda Dawn Beard. She is also survived by her only great-granddaughter, Blake Lee Vivian Remington.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Connie is survived by her beloved sister Belinda Brown and her husband James Brown, as well as her brothers Andy Branscum and Jamie Branscum. She was also loved and honored in her life in a special way by her nieces Heather Rosenberg and Jennifer Taylor.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Glenna Faye Hollon Branscum, her brothers David Irvin and Gary (Bubba) Irvin, her aunt Barbara Sue Hearn and uncles Jerry Dean Hollon, and Donald Leroy Hollon. Along with countless other close family who she excitedly met in heaven.
Connie was truly extraordinary. She was not your typical mama; she was a force of nature—hardworking, fiercely independent, and the strongest woman we ever knew. Through the many trials of her life, she never gave up. She always came out on top. She always finished strong. Her creativity knew no bounds; she had an incredible gift for transforming the simplest materials into beautiful treasures, proving that you could create something magnificent from nothing.
With an elegant taste that belied her budget, she turned her home into a sanctuary filled with warmth and beauty, all while managing to do it on a dollar store budget. Her ability to make every space feel inviting and special was a testament to her love of home. Her humor was unmatched and continued until her very last moments.
A memorial service to celebrate Connie’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to assist in the cost of services and end of life expenses. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Bobby Remington at 918-798-6337 or cashapp him directly at $Rremington44.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children and all who were fortunate enough to know her. We celebrate her life, her strength, and her unwavering spirit. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as the remarkable woman who taught us the true meaning of resilience, creativity, and love. Connie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her children ask that you please take a moment and add a note or special message/memory on her tribute wall.
