Joe Rizqallah, age 66 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9th 2024 at his home with his loving wife at his side.
Joe was born in Kuwait on October 9th, 1957. He is the son of Joseph and Yasmine Rizqallah. He was the oldest of five siblings and lived throughout the Midwest. Joe graduated from Henry Clay High School and began attending the University of Kentucky. To help his father with the business, he left college and helped run his father’s store. Shortly thereafter, Joe got married to Linda Farhat and moved to Michigan where he started at Rent a Center as sales associate and was promoted to Regional Vice President where he managed multiple stores across the Midwest. In pursuing a deeper passion, he left Rent a Center and decided to open and operate Grapevine Wine & Deli, a regional convenient store that he owned for twenty-two years. He won multiple awards, gained notoriety and became a familiar face in the community, donating to various charitable organizations, schools and colleges. After he sold the store in 2012, he decided to travel and spend as much time as he would with his beautiful wife, his three sons and his beautiful grandchildren. Out of all his accomplishments, his greatest was being with his grandchildren and spending time with them. He is sorely missed and loved so much by his family, friends and neighbors. He was an amazing husband, a strong and wonderful father, and a loving brother to so many people. In everything, he tried to honor his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by his words, deeds and action.
On June 27, 1982, Joe was blessed to wed his beloved wife of 42 years, Linda Farhat who survives. Also surviving him are his three sons: Joe & Danielle (Eliana, Joseph and Natayla), Jason & Tara (Jason, Gianna and Sienna), and Anthony, along with his brothers, Jerry (Angie), Jimmy (Natalie); his sisters, Luna and Sona, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Family and friends will be received at Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service from 4pm to 7pm with prayer service starting at 7pm on Thursday, September 12.
