In Brockton, Raymond Ferreira, age 90, passed away suddenly at Good Samaritan Hospital on September 9, 2024. Raymond was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Seekell) Ferreira. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Serifin Ferreira and Mary (Berthao) Ferreira. Raymond had resided in Taunton his entire life. He attended Taunton schools and was a graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School. Raymond was employed for 22 years as a foreman for Bristol County Agricultural School, and later as the sexton for the former Sacred Heart Church in Taunton. He enjoyed vacationing at the Pond in Plymouth, gardening, and cherished his time with his family and friends. He was a dedicated family person and a devout catholic. Raymond is survived by his children; Raymond Ferreira of Taunton, David Ferreira and wife Lauren of Taunton, Lola Silva and husband David of Taunton, John Charles Ferreira of Lakeville, Peter Ferreira and wife Carole of Taunton, Paul Ferreira of Taunton, Mark Ferreira and wife Jenny of Bourne. His dear friend Bea Malone of Taunton. He also leaves his siblings; Robert Ferreira and Evelyn Mastromarino both of Taunton and the late Charlie, Louie, Freddy, George, Eddie, James, Serifin, and Joseph Ferreira, and May Ventura. He also leaves his 13 loving grandchildren and 7 great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Sunday, September 15th from 4-6 pm. Funeral from O’Keefe Wade on Monday at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation of the Lord Church, formerly Sacred Heart Church at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. .
