Belvion Lenora Aiken formerly of Antreville SC, was born August 2, 1943. She passed away on September 9, 2024, at her residence in Mt. Vernon Apartments.
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Aiken, father, Marvin O. Williams, mother, Katie Lee Williams, sister, Mae Jean Johnson, brother, Marvin Odell Williams Jr., and her in-laws R.C. and Bessie Lee Aiken.
She graduated from Wright High School in Abbeville, SC. She was a member of the Rocky River A.M.E. Church, where she served as a musician, choir member, served on the Trustee Board, and in many other capacities. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, Women’s Aid Society Lodge 100, and co-founder of the Red Hat Ladies Club.
Lenora was employed at Park Davis/Becton Dickson Cooperation in Honea Path, SC. She became a Sales Representative at Hamrick’s Clothing Store in Anderson, SC. She later was employed by the Anderson School District 5 school system, where she finally retired.
Her true passion and calling was singing. She sang in her local church, faithfully. She was also a founding singer and member of the Spiritual Trio. After which she later joined forces with her family, the Aiken Family. They traveled all over the country singing praises unto GOD and she was masterful at doing so, especially with her self-acclaimed song “Don’t Let Me Drift Away”.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories: her sons, Bishop Rico M. Aiken, Sr., and Apostle Mandrell Aiken, Sr. both of Anderson SC; one brother, Jaehue Clinkscales; seven grandchildren, Marisha Aiken, Rico Aiken Jr., Prentice Mandrell Aiken, Jr., Kaliah Aiken, Kamiah Aiken, Keeon Aiken (Jakeria), and Kai’Darirus Wilson; ten great-grands; and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her honorary cousins who she acclaimed as sisters, Alice Donaldson, and Patricia Butler; her amazing friend, Pastor Marie Hunter; brother-in-law, Milton (Pam) Aiken; sister-in-law, Mentha (Leroy) Smith; honorary daughters who never left her side and helped her relentlessly, Elaine Wilson, Roberta Monroe, Cassandra Powell, Felicia Gambrell, Julianna Nickalus, Melissa Johnson, and Alicia Cheatham...we are forever grateful for you all!
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Restoration House. The interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family is at 118 Doris Ave., Anderson, SC.
