Julie Ann Fink, 67, of Sumner, died Friday, September 6, 2024, at Unity Point/Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Hawkeye Community Hall with a light lunch being served.
Julie Ann, daughter of Delos and Marie (Schmidt) Frater was born August 25, 1957, in Vinton. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Julie graduated from Vinton High School in 1975. Following graduation, she continued her education at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. On November 12, 1982, she married Brad Fink. To this union a daughter was born, Susi. The couple later divorced. Julie began her working career at Crane Manufacturing, later at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner for a couple years, prior to Iowa Ham which became Tyson Foods for ten years, completing her career at Casey’s in Sumner and Fredericksburg. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, cooking, reading, and attending auctions with her significant other, Mike Lynch.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Susi (Justin) Lampe of Westgate; granddaughter, Megan Lampe of St. Cloud, Minnesota; siblings, Mae Laatsch of Madison, Wisconsin, Gladys Mahoney of Sumner, and Delos “Bob” Frater of Ladora; sister-in-law, Shirley Frater of Mesquite, Texas; significant other, Mike Lynch of Sumner; Mike’s family; former husband, Brad Fink of Fairbank; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Frater.
