Celedonio “Cele” Brito, age 95, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024.  Celedonio is survived by three sons: Guadalupe Brito, Juan (Laura) Brito and Roberto Brito; numerous grandchildren; special grandchildren: Juan Antonio Brito and Josue Daniel Brito; and brother, Pedro Brito; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Carmen; and sons:  Pedro and Carlos Brito.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, Indiana with Rev. Diego Florez, A.I.C. officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.  Visitation will be on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9:00 to 9:30 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana.

Celedonio retired in 1991 from Inland Steel Company after 40 years of service and was a member of the Inland 25 year club; member of United Steelworkers of America Local #1010; member of Our lady of Guadalupe Church in East Chicago.  He was an avid boxing fan, member of the NRA and loved his empanadas!
